Learn to Drive an Automatic Electric Car in Shrewsbury
When learning to drive, it's usual to spend a fair bit of time with your instructor, so you must choose someone whom you trust and are happy with.

I teach in an automatic, smart, modern, electric car. I have a calm manner, am patient, and tailor the level of lessons to suit each individual. I offer a door-to-door pick-up and drop-off service in the Shrewsbury area of Shropshire and am extremely proud of helping so many customers along the journey of learning to drive, and then seeing them pass their tests. I can help all levels of ability - nervous or confident, completely new to driving, partly trained or lessons for full licence holders who might, for example, want to switch from driving manual cars to automatic; I cater for all. How many lessons will I need?
We all learn at a different pace, and there is no one-size-fits-all. The DVSA says that 'the average learner needs 45 hours of professional lessons and 22 hours of private practice'; however, in an automatic car you don't need lesson time for clutch and gear skills, so it is likely to be less.
How long will my driving lessons be?
Most lessons are 1 hour or 1.5 hours, usually scheduled once a week, but sometimes it's possible to arrange more.
I am very nervous; how will I cope in a driving lesson?
After a few minutes in the car, you will soon find out that the lesson is conducted in a calm, patient and friendly manner. It doesn't matter what level you are at; the lesson will be tailored to you and move on at a pace that suits you. All you have to do is make that first bold step, one that I'm sure you won't regret.
How will I know when I'm ready to go for my driving test?
We work together, discussing your progress every step of the way. It's not only your driving instructor who advises you that you are ready, but you must also feel confident yourself.
Is an electric car easier to learn in?
EVs drive like an automatic car with just a brake and accelerator. There are no gear changes, which makes them very smooth, with the added benefit of a quiet cabin which helps create a calming atmosphere.
